One of my sites I used was Arkivmusic which is a site to find and buy classical music recordings. "New Yorker" magazine (October 22,2007) had quite an article about the internet helping classical music. "The anonymity of Internet browsing has made classical music more accessible to non-fanatics; first time listeners can read reviews, compare audio samples and decide on, for example, a Beethoven recording by Wilhelm Furtwangler, all without risking the humiliation of mis-pronouncing the conductor's name under the sour gaze of a record clerk". The article went on to mention sites such as Amazon, iTunes and Arkivmusic.
