The Great Training Coordinator made some nice comments on my blog about my willingness to venture out on the web and experience some new stuff. But I do have to draw the line here at Twitter. Maybe I did not get it.......maybe everything is not for everybody. I did not see great stuff here. People talking about cleaning their bathrooms, people talking about taking a nap. I would not allow these people to waste my time talking to me of such things.......let alone making me read about it.
I can see some interest from my part if I were stuck in a meeting or on an airplaine or stuck in a 2000 mile backup on I-90. I would be somewhere in the vicinity of Spokane on my way to Boston. Yep that might be a good time to Twitter.

I am beginning to think that the more I read about this social networking stuff; the more I realize that there is a world I knew nothing about. I am talking to Kim as I write this...she thinks I should blog about baseball aka something I know something about! :-) But I did like the post from Meredith Farkas. She seemed to sense what is needed (which is allowing the facebook members to talk to us, but we should not be invading THEIR space). I liked her article. It made sense to me. Which is an elusive thing for me at times.

Wiki Two
I learned (just as in all things computer-wise) there are several ways to do what you want to do. Jeannie and I decided to add a Table of Contents to the Sylvan Way wiki. We added
and added the Table. But, later, when talking to Bob; he showed us a quicker way to do it. We arranged some things into heading 3 and added them. It is pretty amazing how easy it is to edit these pages. And....................how comfortable it is when you spend just a bit of time figuring it all out.

Wiki Part One
As usual I waded into this new concept with trepidation. And, as usual, my brain liked what it had to do. Both the Stevens County Wiki Project and the Book Lovers Wiki could be incorporated into KRL. Patrons would love adding to our Wiki. People always like an organization more if they feel they are part of it. Everyone who has ever read very many books loves to tell others their opinions of them. I liked the 5 Star Reviews and the genre list. KRL patrons could find books that others recommend. I really liked the idea of a book list (Wiki) on our website.

YouTube
As usual this was much more fun than I thought it would be. Everyone has heard horrid stories about what they show on YouTube. I visited New York City last week. I missed the Rockefeller Center tree lighting by one day. But there it was on YouTube. The video was a bit shaky and amateurish............but this is what you might get since anyone can post. I also typed in Tony Bennett and there he was...........singing away. I did find Susan and her fish story from the library. All of this is such an amazing learning experience. I am enjoying it very much.

Library Thing
I proved to myself that I need to write down the titles of the books I read. To list the last 3 books I read in Library Thing; I actually had to use Google to find the titles! I read so many things..........the title is the last thing I remember. Here is a website that I will actually use. I really like the tagging idea. These last 3 books all used the same tag (New York city history).......this proves that I need to get another genre! But I love New York City and I love its history. Life is short........eat dessert first and go to New York every year (which I do).

Flickr not Flicker
I kept typing in Flicker.com (with the letter e) and would search Norway and get lots of shopping sites and cruise lines etc. I did not mind looking at the Norwegian sweaters and thinking about buying one of them. But I knew this was not quite with 2.0 had in mind for me. After a bit of whining I discovered that Flickr has no letter e. With this discovery I found beautiful pictures of Norwegian fjords which took my breath away.
